
Long Legged Buzzard
At least three different colour morphs, pale,(commonest), rufous and dark. Common to all are extensive dark carpal patches, dark trailing edge to wings.
Head and upper breast cream-white, sharply demarcated from brownish belly and vent. Under wing-coverts pale red-brown to yellow-brown, ending in black carpal patches.
Noticeably idle and sluggish, sitting on perches for long hours. Usually silent; calls with short, sharp mew typical of genus.
